CP isn't the worst thing...and good news!

Cerebral palsy is not the worst thing to face.  There are so many worse things people could face. At  church today someone told us about a trip to Haiti and how awful it is there. For example people that live in some places in Haiti are very poor and don't get clothes or clean water or enough to eat.  Another example is the people who have cancer. They have to go through a lot of suffering to survive.   What I am trying to say is that we shouldn't be feeling bad about ourselves just because our muscles don't listen! We should appreciate the things that we do have.  I'm blessed that I have a bunch of good things.  Some good things I have are a nice house and family and friends. When you are down, I encourage you to think about the good stuff in your life.
I have some news.  Good news about the puppy. We are getting it on Wednesday! I am so excited! Her name will be Bailey Rose.  I chose her middle name because of Derrick Rose, my FAVE basketball player. The USA would have had no trouble against Spain if he were playing by the way. I have been watching a ton of the Olympics, especially basketball. USA! USA!

  1. Nice dog name. I like that. Too bad it isn't a boy because than you could just call it Derrick. Don't forget to give the dog a little basketball plush toy :D

  2. Such a cute name! please post some photos of ya'll together once she's settled in!

And you're right, as bad as things seem sometimes, we are blessed. there are so many people in every town that don't even have fresh water, or even a home. and imagine being disabled in that situation...with no where to turn! our bad days are someone else's dream come true. There will be harder days..and more frustration as you grow...but a good friend..and your family will always be there. we each have a purpose in this world, and the folks most people assume can't do anything are going to change the way the world loves. you will change the world. the challenges you face every day make you a stronger, more resilient, loving kid...you are going to do great things just by being yourself! I love reading your posts! Keep em coming!

  3. Thanks for telling us about your blog. It is fun to see what's on your mind. You are always so encouraging to Ron and I when we get to see you. I always tell Emily through all her medical issues that God will use her to show his love to all the people she encounters. Same with you Jack, the Lord is using you in ways others could never reach people. Share His love with all you encounter :)
